uninstalling a program

I am trying to uninstall a program in the control panel add remove programs
window. I am being prompted for a password before the uninstall can continue.
I have no such password. How can I uninstall this program?

Try a blank password. If this doesn't help, use the System Restore tool
and select a restore point prior to that particular installation.

Addendum: Since there are no more registry entries after system restore
concerning that program, any program remainders can be deleted safely in
most cases.
