Uninstalled Files

I recently installed and application on my computer, but it did not function properly. I used the uninstaller provided with the software and it uninstalled files from my desktop. Is there anyway to recover this files?

A decent uninstaller will NOT effect any files that were not included in the inastall. If the installation put files on the desktop then the uninstall took them away as it should have. If these were not files put there by the installer then it is not likely the uninstaller effected them. Were these files or shortcuts tio files? Maybe just the shortcuts are gone but the actual files still exist.
