Uninstall

I am having a problem with uninstalling Earthlink. I removed a virus and some
spyware. I go to Add/Remove Programs to remove Earthlink. It goes through the
removal process but it is still there and I can still launch the program. I
have tried reinstalling Earthlink but it fails. Gives error 1635 or something
like that. How can it go through the uninstall process and still be there?
How can I remedy this situation?

See if this helps: "Error Message: 1635 This Patch Package Could Not
Be Opened" (http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=812490). Make sure to
remove the correct entry from the Registry.

I attempted the regedit but there is no reg key DFAD2... under
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Classes\Installer\Products\

This article deals with Plus! Since your problem is related to other
software, find the proper key and delete this instead of the Plus! one
