Hi, ive installed vista on a new drive, it now wont boot up due to a startup
problem and non of the rcovery options are open to me, how do i now format
the drive to start again, as the drive isnt detected by my install of xp.

Boot into XP and format the drive on which Vista is installed on in My
Computer. Right click it and click Format.

Hi, the drive that vista is installed on doesnt show up in xp.

Right click on My Computer in XP and select Manage. This will bring up
Computer Management. Under Storage select Disk Management. From within
there you should seel the drive where Vista is installed. Right click on
the partition on the Vista drive and you will see options such as Format and
Delete.

hi, the drive doesnt show there either. seems to have vanished altogether.

My recommendation then would be to boot from the XP CD and use the text
based setup program to format that drive the exit setup.
