My games were crashing my computer. I set a system restore point and
unistalled a bunch of programs. I also deleted a bunch of program files that
didn't seem important. My computer worked great except Word and Excel didn't
work so I tried a system restore. Now my computer will only start in safe
mode.

Hi

On the same screen as you access Safe Mode, try 'Last Known Good
Configuration' to see if you can get back into Windows 'normal' mode.

Hmm..would have thought the way to deal with this was uninstall /
reinstall Word and Excel rather than do the restore.

I assume you tried Last Known Good Configuration? Try to undo the
restore from safe mode. If that doesn't work try another restore point.
If that doesn't work do a repair install, and if that doesn't then a
clean install.

First you might want to install the drive as a slave drive in another XP
computer and copy the important data files before you try any other
fixes.
