Uninstall Network card driver (Win XP)

I want to uninstall my network card driver completely. I am using Win XP, I
go to my device manager and uninstall the driver from there but when I reboot
my system Windows loads the driver again. Is there some way that I could
completely uninstall the driver and it doesn't get loaded when the system
restarts?

Remove the network adapter.

If the NIC can't be removed physically, it might help to open Device
Manager, double-click the NIC, and under "Device Usage", select "Do not
use this device (disable)".

An alternate method is to check the computer's BIOS setup. Usually
the NIC can be disabled as part of the Peripheral Setup category.

I am using an IBM Thinkpad, so it is not possible to remove the network card. If I disable the card from the bios and then try to uninstall the driver would it reinstall itself again after restarting?

No, but just go ahead and try it out to see for yourself! You'd probably
want to uninstall the driver first, then go to the BIOS on next restart to
disable it.
