Uninstall copy of xp

I have just found an old hard drive and installed it in
my computer that has another copy of xp on it, and it has
caused some instability in my system. I would like to
know how to remove or disable it.

Do you mean that you are dual booting or did you just install the old drive
as a slave and want to use it for storage while keeping your current XP
setup? If you it is a slave and shows as "D" (or another drive letter) in My
Computer you can simple format it by right clicking and selecting format.
That will erase XP from the drive.
