Dave

I have tried installing Roxio Easy CD Creator on a XP
system. Upon startup up I get an error message staing
that the Driver was not installed because it will make
windows unstable. now the driver was not installed so how
do i get rid of it. I see it on the device manager driver
tab with a red X over it. But there is nothing in the
Add/Remove program showing the program.

Same problem, so far no solution.
I want to try to identify the files and remove them.

Issue Description:

A CD-recording driver is installed that might cause
stability problems, including problems shutting down and
problems using a CD/DVD drive. This driver will be
disabled.
This driver might have been installed by Easy CD Creator,
Windows Media Player or RealJukebox. You might not be
able to record CDs until you obtain compatible drivers.

You can click on the error message in the systray and it
will tell you what drivers are causing the problem. I
believe they are cd4k, well I forget their name, but write
them down ( there will be two) then go to the find option
and search for the drivers. Once found you can delete
them. Sometimes you will have to reinstall the windows
original drivers from the recovery disk. If you didn't
install the easy CD creator too long ago you can use the
system restore option but that will only go back two
months. Good luck.
