uninitiated pc start up.

my parents new pc with xp proffesional, start's up from
shutdown whenever their phone rings.

They use their phone line as an internet line and i can't
find anything in the modem config that you can do to
disable this. ANY incoming phone call triggers this.

Pls help.

Open Device Manager on your WindowsXP computer (Right Click My Computer ->
Manage -> Device Manager).



In Device Manager locate your modem and open Properties (right click on
Modem and select Properties). Under Power Management deselect check box
"Allow this device to bring the computer out of standby".
