Hello,

I keep getting these messages after a shutdown which
happens every 10 to 15 minutes (if I am not wokring on
the computer). The message says:
Computer restarted after an unexpected shutdown.
Possible device failure.

The display driver for sis650_651_m650_m650_740
seems to be responsible for the system instability.

Do you know what this means? can you help?

Thanks so much.

You have something that is crashing - and the system's 'automatically
restart' is cutting in. Turn this off: in Control Panel - System -
Advanced, click Settings in the Startup and Recovery section. There
uncheck 'automatically restart'. You may now get a Blue screen failure
instead, but at least will get some guidance as to what is happening

SIS is a chipset maker - this sounds like there is trouble with the
driver for the video chip on the motherboard. Or maybe with the section
of RAM it uses.

In the first instance try the makers of the motherboard. If they can't
help, there is a source of generic SIS drivers at
http://download.sis.com/sisdlc/index.jsp
but regard that as a last resort, and note the warning
