Recently I am experience unexpected lost of network connection. No messages
errors, applications that depend of network connection can't get information
(outlook express, internet explorer, msn, etc.). The only way to restore
network connection is restart computer.

I try to find solutions since 3 weeks ago, without result. Can anyone tell
me how to fix? Thanks a lot for your help.

I've been dealing with similar situation since january, but my situation
is machine sensitive.

What are the systems on your network?
Windows XP, 2K, 98 or what?

What machines have firewalls? What brand?

What you do IPCONFIG /ALL on each of them, what is te value of
"Node Type"

When you go to command prompt and execute "BROWSTAT STATUS", what is the
result for each machine (Before and after failure)?

Get your diagnose foundation here:

Here is one of your best friends for this kind of problem:

Good subject organization and lots of information)

Carl,

Thanks for the referral. I think we are not done with your situation either.

The OP was not too specific with the scope of his problem, but from the wording
I'm betting that it's more than Windows Networking. Browstat is a good tool,
but it's generally most useful with Windows Networking problems.

In his case, I'd recommend lower level approach:

http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/2005/05/troubleshooting-internet-service.html

And more detail in the problem report:

Maybe analysis of time patterns too:

What machines have firewalls? What brand? All computers have firewall. Bullguard. Only 2 computers with same problem.

"Node Type" Hybrid

Simon,

One of the most common causes of an error 53 in browstat would be a
misconfigured or overlooked personal firewall, or other security component.
There are several other possibilities too, and any might be the cause of your
problem. Read this article with an open mind.
<http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/2005/10/irregularities-in-workgroup-visibility.html>
http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/2005/10/irregularities-in-workgroup-visibility.html

Also, check your NetBT setting.

http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/2006/04/netbios-over-tcpip.html

Now, you're showing "2 domains in domain XXXX", which may point to a segmented
LAN. Or it might be intentional. You can read my articles, and others, and
solve this on your own, or you can post "browstat status", "ipconfig /all",
"net config server", and "net config workstation", from each computer, complete
and unedited, so we can diagnose the problem.

details are relevant.
