pre-formatted floppies,
un-formatted floppies,
manually formatting,
etc., etc.

any other suggestions?
thnx in advance :)
(if this is double posted, sorry, the system gave me an error the first time)

Is this the article you sere referring to?
"An Unexpected I/O Error Has Occurred" Error Message When You Try to Create
an MS-DOS Startup Disk
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;311385

I just created one. In fact I creted it twice on the same disk.

Stick a disk in the 3½" drive
Open My Computer
Right click your 3½" drive
Select Format
Select Quick Format
Start button
Click OK
When done formatting
Click OK to Format Complete message
Select Create an MS-DOS startup disk
Start button
Click OK to the popup
OK
Close

yeah, i know about the bootdisk.com stuff
and yeah, i did the same as you tryin to make the startup disk
but for some reason i keep getting that same error
guess i could try uninstalling/reinstalling the floppy drive
thats about the only thing i havent tried, lol

-thnx
