unexpected error from external database driver (10019)

Access 2000 and Win XP
When I try to import a .dbf file into ACCESS2000 I get
the message "Unexpected error from external database
driver (10009)" I have done the same procedure last march
and there was no problem. I do have version 4.0.08618.0
of Microsoft Jet Engine Library. Can some one help me?
Anticipated thanhs.
