uneven spaces in text

When typing a document in Word 2002, every so often, with
no obvious pattern, I get gaps appearing in the text.

I will get so mething lik e this appeari ng on the screen.

I thought initially it was a display driver problem, but
the gaps are reproduced when I print out the document.
Can anyone help please?

Dave, try making sure you have the most current printer
driver available for you operating system and printer.
Older drivers sometimes conflict in this manner.
