Hi,

When I attempt to use the Unerase Wizard, it opens the "Open with"
dialog, and none of the choice apply. It used to work properly, and
as I seldom use it I have no idea when it actually failed. Of course
I can go directly to the recycle folder using Open function, but I was
wondering if anyone could give me an idea how to get the old search
dialog back.

It's not part in WindowsXP.

At least the recovery part is well documented in the Help file, except
that they talk about double-clicking rather than right-clicking. When
I double click, I still get the "Open with" dialog.

To delete or restore files in the Recycle Bin

On the desktop, double-click Recycle Bin. (Open with dialog appears
here.)
Do one of the following:
To restore an item, right-click it, and then click Restore.
To restore all of the items, on the Edit menu, click Select All, and
then on the File menu, click Restore.

If you are posting about recover of a file from the Windows XP Recycle bin,
right click on the desktop Recycle Bin icon and select Open.

Else, explain what you are doing.

Alan,

What's the default item (listed in bold letters) when you right-click the
Recycle Bin icon? Note that "open" should be the default action.

Ramesh,

Got the problem fixed. It seems there were a few shellex items left
over which were causing the problem. Now, clicking on the icon brings
up the Recycle bin as it should. Bits and pieces from the early
replies were very helpful!
