Undocking Vista Quick Launch Toolbar

I would appreiciate some help with moving the Vista Quick Launch Toolbar from
the Taskbar to dock at the top of the screen. I have done this in every
version of Windows I have had which includes: 98, 98SE, ME, 2000, XP Home and
MCE. And in each of them moved the Quick Launch from the Taskbar to the top
of the screen. However Vista won't undock it from the taskbar. I unchecked
"Lock the Taskbar" already, I am no novice when it comes to tweaking Windows
to fit my needs perfectly.

This has been answered a number of times here. For some reason, you cannot
'undock' toolbars from the taskbar--at this time.
The workaround:
Create a New Folder on the desktop. Drag it to an edge--it becomes a
toolbar. Right click it/Toolbars/choose from the given list or browse to
your own toolbar folder with New Toolbar.
Then close the New Folder toolbar (and delete the folder from your desktop,
if you like). Set the properties for your now established toolbar as you
like. You may have to repeat this procedure a time or three if Explorer
crashes at some point before a good shutdown/restart.
You can then, if you wish, close the Quick Launch toolbar on your taskbar.
