undo compacting messages

Hi, yestarday in my inbox I had 2500 messages today in the morning I only
have 300 from the last month, How can I recover the other Messages?, I
checked in my mail directory and the size of my inbox file is 1.5Gb(too big),
is there a way to undo the compactation of the messages?

Try posting this in an Outlook Express news group - this is not one of them.
Outlook is a part of Microsoft Office and is what this group supports.
Outlook Express is a part of Internet Explorer and has its own news groups.
