Undo Changes made by Network Setup Wizard

Since the release of SP2 I have been getting a ton of calls where people run
the Network Setup Wizard and loose networking ability (can still surf but
that's it). How can these changes be undone?

Typically one PC looks like it is now the gateway and all previous shares
are no good and the "gateway" PC can not even be accessed in the Workgroup
anymore.

I have posted this question here before and never got an answer...is
Microsoft aware of this problem? We have a huge thread at Experts-Exchange
and nobody could solve this bug. Person had to call Microsoft and they had
him re-install the OS.

Is FDISK the only way to undo changes by the Network Setup Wizard???

I don't know about Microsoft, but this is the first that I've heard of
the problem.

We don't have enough information from your message to be able to say
what's wrong. In particular, we need to know:

1. How the computers connect to the Internet and to each other.

2. What connection method people are specifying when the Wizard asks.
The answer to that question determines what changes the Wizard makes
and whether it allows or blocks file and printer sharing on the local
area network.

SP2 has a new Windows Firewall. If it's enabled, make sure that:

1. It's configured to allow file and printer sharing on the local area
network, and:

2. No other firewall program is installed. Running two firewalls is
very likely to cause problems.

What does "one PC looks like it is now the gateway" mean? What
exactly are you seeing, and where do you see it?

1. All cases people have a hardware firewall (Linksys etc...)
2. All allowed File Sharing (why they ran it ;-)
3. Have been through hundreeds of Network Settings, Users, Winsocks ...etc

I am surprsied you haven't seen tyhis. Its in all the threads next to this
one. People are all having the same problem.

Does anyone know how to undo the wizards changes? besides FDISK?
