Undeleting files

I've carelessly deleted my Favourites folder and then cleaned out the
recycle bin. Wanting to try and retrieve the files I downloaded a cheap file
retriever application.

It seems to work and I was very surprised at the hundreds of files that had
been deleted. I've managed to locate a few Favourites files. They have the
Explorer logo and are labelled Internet Shortcut. The rest of the files must
be there somewhere, but under a different label,perhaps.

Can anyone explain how to locate the rest of my Favourites files.

Maybe not. As long as a file is in the recycle bin it is safe. However
when you clean out the recycle bin, the file is fair game for any newly
saved file, one you save or one the system saves. If any part of the
original file is over written, it is gone for good ... Well it is unless you
are the CIA or some crazy hacker who has a lot of time on their hands.
