When you close a file, a dialog box pops up asking you if
you want to save the changes YES NO CANCEL.
If you press NO by accident all the work you have done is
lost in an instant. I am sure that hundreds of thousands
of man hours of work are lost this way. In my old edition
of Windows I could use Dr. Watson to recover this data.
How do I do this in Windows XP?

Dr. Watson is still around...
To open Dr. Watson, click Start, and then click Run. In the Open box, type drwtsn32
You could look in the temp files too, many programs create temp files.

Thanks Mary. Am I mistaken or did not Dr Watson have an
undelete function?

I could be mistaken, but I don't recall Dr. Watson being able to
recover accidentally-deleted files.

The easy answer for this problem lies in your subject line -- do a
Google search for "undelete" and you'll see several products that can
recover files that are deleted accidentally.

I hope this helps -
