unfortunatley i dont think there is. a system restore can
sometimes help to restore programs that have been
deleted, but with files i think once they are gone they
are gone.

Google "undelete" and you'll find all sorts of programs.

The above utility will allow you to recover deleted files. Of course, the
less you do with your system before attempting recovery, the more likely you
are to recover the file intact.
Depending on the type of file, it may have been protected by System Restore,
and you may be able to recover it that way.
