Unattached subform

I have a form with a subform. I would like to put a button on the subform
that opens another subform. I cannot get the 2nd subform to link to the
number on the main form that all the forms are linked to.

Example:
The main form has a number of 100.
The subform has additional data representing entry 100.
The subform behind the button is a checklist that also represents data for
100.
Currently when I open the subform behind the button it just states a number
textbox. This should already be filled in with 100.

I have only created subforms with the wizard and it prompts me to link the
two fields to avoid this. Can someone walk me through this. Thank you.

I don't think you can do it. Best alternative is to place your subforms on a
tab control.
