unapply filter in e-mail

i am unable to access my e-mail usually more than once (for same message(s)
i use Microsoft Office Outlook (2003). I keep losing messages and cannot
find them in any of my folders...the task bar says 'filter applied'...could
this be the problem? i have contacted Microsoft and my ISP...no luck! Help!

View - Current View - Customize Current View - Filter - Clear All - Ok - Ok.
