unanble to copy paste files between client and server

I using win 2000 terminal server and a win2000 pro with remote desktop
connection as the client. My questions are the following.

1. How do i determine the version of my RDP client
2. I recently followed a article from microsoft website to make some changes
to the registry on the server for rdpclip. Now, when i connect from a
Terminal Services window client i can copy and paste files between the client
and server, however when i try connecting from a rdp client i cannot copy and
paste files between the client and server.

Is there a fix available to question 2. I have heard about a rdp 5 fix for
rdpclip however, i am unable to get this copy. Can anyone help.

You can see the version of nearly any application in the "About"
box, under the system menu.

The rdp client and the Terminal Server client are really one and
the same thing. But you seem to have different versions.
The rdp client that comes built-in to W2K Pro is version 5.0,
which is rather old and lacks a lot of features.
I would make sure you run at least version 5.2.
You can dowload version 6.0 here:

And here's the article that describes rdp-clip, including a
download link for the rdp-clip hotfix:

Thanks for your prompt response Vera. I followed your recommendation and
installed the rdpclip hotfix on the server as indicated in the other article.
Then I installed terminal service client 6.0 from the link you provided. Now
when i tried to configure the client i do not have tsclient install directory
or the fxfr.dll and the rest of the files as indicated in the article. Also
there is one other thing i noticed when i installed the newer client, when i
click on the about it gives me version 5.1 and build 2600, why does it not
say 6.0.

I looked in my other computer that had the older version of windows terminal
services 5.0. The files fxfr.dll and rdp* are available in the
c:\programfiles\Terminal services client. Now my question is how do configure
the client or where are those files residing. Your help will be highly
appreciated.
