unallocated space in disk management

hi guys,
Hope you could help me on this one.
When i'm checking on Disk management in Windows 2000
server, i notice that there's about 5.17GB of unallocated
space.
When i right click on it, the option Create partition is
shaded. I'm not able to select Create Partition. I hope
someone could explain the problem to this as i'm in dire
need to use the extra hdd space.

Your help is really much appreciated.
Thanks

There's no raid configure on that server

Do you have administrative rights on this system?

Does the drive already have four partitions? You're limited to
either four primary partitions, or three primary + 1 extended
per drive.

You cannot have more than 4 primary partitions on each
hard drive. You must already have four. If you can
delete one of them, then create an extended partition
that consumes all of your free space, then create logical
drives in that extended partition as you wish. (I think
there is a limit of 32 logical drives per physical hard
drive.)
Let me know if this helped.
