Unallocated Disk Space Issue

I currently have 10 gigs of unallocated disk space. I would like to move it
to my root drive as an extension of current 5 gig partition. I am close to
running out of space on the C:\ on my domain controller. How do I make the
unallocated disk space available to use and merge the partition with the C:\
without corrupting data or losing data? If I cannot do this, outside of
keeping my temporary files and recycle bin cleared, what logs or data can be
moved to another hard drive? I am currently at the beginning process of my
MCSA and the person before me has left a ton of issues that need to be
resolved. This is top on my list, and any help would be greatly appreciated.
THANKS IN ADVANCE!!

Changing the C partition on a domain controller can be tricky.

First, DO A BACKUP!!!
Second, TEST THE BACKUP!!!

If you're using basic volumes, not dynamic disks, it's not that hard, but
Windows won't do it. You have to use a 3rd party utility. I use Partion
Manager Professional 6.0 from Paragon Software
http://www.partition-manager.com

It is virtual drive space. I have Volume Manager 2.0 by Symantec and because
the space is Unallocated, I cannot access the program to try to make the disk
space usable. So now I am trying to figure out how to do it with win2000
disk manager. When I right click on the unallocated space, the only option I
get is "properties" and from there I'm lost.

Hi,
Try Microsoft resource kit utility: diskpart. You can also use diskprobe but
it is very complex and involves risk.
