Unable to VPN from Windows XP

Todd

I am suddenly unable to VPN into a Windows 2000 server
from any Windows XP machine. I am still able to VPN in
from Windows 2000 machines but with XP I get "Error 619:
A connection to the remote computer could not be
established, so the port used for the connection was
closed"...

When you log in are you using the proper syntax? e.g. company/user

Give it a try.

Tried that too. I am using identical username/password
on two systems on the same network hub. The only
difference is one is running Windows2000 Pro and the
other one is WindowsXP Pro. I am able to connect to VPN
on the Windows 2000 machine but not the XP one. I have
also tried this on several different machines with the
same results.

I know you've probably gone over all of this but i'm gonna ask any way :)

1. Are you running anti-virus software or have you recently installed any new software?
2. Have you changed the way you are connecting to the internet?

Try installing the latest service pack or if you already have installed it try re-installing it.

Todd,

Try disabling your firewall on the computers interface. Also disable any external firewalls. If your VPN works, then you need to enable a port through your firewall to allow VPN connections.
