Unable to view version/cipher strength of IE

I have recently come across some users unable to select
help>about internet explorer and receive detail. Once the
select the option the window comes up blank and the user
appears not to be able to view secure sites.

Anyone else seen this?
 
I have come across that several times with the users of
the product my company produces. THis happens when they
are trying to get to our secure site, then they try to log
in and nothing happens.

Wehn we try to repair IE, going to the control panel,
only "half" the icons appears (The icons appear to be
halved). Then, when they find add/remove programs, the
program list comes up blank.


ANy thoughs anyone?
