Unable to veiw a 2004 PPT file in Windwos PPT 2003

I had worked on my powerbook that has PPT 2004 installed on it. I saved the
file to a disk, and brought it in office to run it on my windows machine. The
file did open, but when i went to Slide Sorter view, i could only see title
text of each slide instead of all the content. I have SP2 (all updates)
installed for windows. I m not able to open it. Is there a way around it to
solve this issue? Please let me know. Thanks

You say you have SP2 for Windows, but do you have SP2 for Office. They
are different things. Start PowerPoint 2003, go to the Help menu, and
choose Check for Updates. Follow the instructions to install all updates.

What content is missing? You might need to turn down your video hardware
acceleration:

Hi David, have SP2 for office. I have also done the other two tips that you
have mentioned but still no luck. When i stay in slide view, i can see all
the contents in the slides. But only when i go into Slide Sorter is when i
get the problem.

Glenna, i do not have a problem with opening the PPT file. Its just that when
i go into SLIDE SORTER VIEW, i do not see the text and images i have inside
the slide. I can run the slide show and that works fine. Any other ppt file i
open and go into SLIDE SORTER VIEW, it shows everything on the slides, but
just not this specific file.

I'm guessing that Round-tripping isn't the solution to your problem.
However round-tripping can get rid of file corruption that causes
unexplained errors, some small and some big. This doesn't seem like a
corrupt file problem, but it can't hurt to try round-tripping just to see
if it helps.

Ah, I think I have it.

Go into Slide Sorter view.
On the Standard toolbar (the one with buttons for opening/saving files, printing
and so on) look for the Show Formatting button. Here it's three buttons to the
left of the Zoom setting. The icon is kind of an A/A affair.

Click that.

Great! It about drove me nuts trying to FIND the silly thing.
I was convinced it was on the outlining toolbar for some idiot reason.
Probably because the button that controls whether or not you see formatting in the
Notes pane is on the Outlining toolbar. For some idiot reason. ;-)
