UNABLE TO UNINSTALL OLD BETA

T

Tom C.

Situation: On July 31st I inadvertently blocked a
necessary directory via MS-SPYWARE; this was discovered on
Aug 1st.

Now when I try to uninstall the old BETA, I get a 1606
error message saying access to this directory is required
to uninstall.

As the software expired on the 31st, how can I remedy the
situation to install the latest BETA ??

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Tom C.

Re-install access........or if you don't know how to do that.......run a
search and delete all files and folders related to MSAS. Then do a reg clean
using a good registry cleaner. Then delete all related DLLs. Then run a reg
finder and clean all that's left that's related to MSAS from the registry.
Then install the latest build. :)

Hi

For some users this is working but for others not.

It is no meaning to defend this "junkyard" within Registry and
all temporarily files. A standard volume for a standard PC
is 500 > 1 GB of junk nowadays.

It MUST be cleaned out, and MS have nothing so test CCleaner yourself
and see ! www.ccleaner.com

I can also see in IE7 that MS changed the biggest challenge, IEs cache
to a smaller number. But the stupid file index.dat remains ;(

MVPs can also recommend 3rd party tools !

It "cleans" things I don't want cleaned and I don't trust any program to
clean the Registry.

Well, thats sad ! :')

Every user I know says "Yiipie !" after a CCleaner removal.

"My PC is like it was when it was new!", but we live in a free world !

I don't want my history, cookies or AutoComplete "cleaned" and I don't want
any program "cleaning" my Registry.

Well, I uncheck what I want to be left.

And about registry it is amazing how much junk you can find.
I always runs it with a backup if something goes wrong.
And CCleaner is conservative and only a basic cleaner for registry
but thats enough for me.

;)
