Unable to type correctly in Microsoft IE 6.0

Please help. For some reason, in the last few weeks,
whenever I go
into IE 6.0 and it requires typing, it either freezes or
you have to
wait for minutes until a character will appear when you
type it in a
typaable field. What is wrong?
