Unable to sync Treo 700w with Vista

I just got a new computer with Vista and I have not had any luck
syncing my Treo 700w with Outlook using Windows Mobile Device Center.
When I try to sync using a USB connection, Windows Mobile Device
Center doesn't recognize the connection, even though I know the
computer is seeing the connection because I hear it beep when I
connect the Treo. I've read that the firewall could be preventing
communication, so I completely disabled my firewall, and still it
didn't work.

So, then I tried syncing with a Bluetooth connection. After setting
up a Bluetooth partnership between my computer and my Treo, I tried to
sync with Bluetooth. The computer ends up asking me for the
partnership password 3 times, then tells me that I've entered in the
wrong password. I know this is not the case because when I set up the
partnership, I know I entered the same password on both the Treo and
the computer.

Can anyone help me? I'd really like to know why the computer's not
accepting my password for the Bluetooth connection. I'd prefer to be
able to sync with Bluetooth, but right now I just want to be able to
sync at all whether with Bluetooth or USB.

Thanks.

My 755p syncs via cable or Bluetooth, but I do not use the
Windows Mobile Device Center (or Outlook, IE, or Outlook
Express). Setting up was initially a problem in that Palm's
Quick Install recognized Palm files, but somehow could not move
them via the ordinary install process. After turning off UAC, it
worked fine.

If you're committed to the Windows Mobile Device Center, you may
have to wait. Otherwise, consider the Palm Desktop without UAC.

And by the way, when your objective is to simply add a new
application to your Treo, P-Install is a free abbreviated
installer that ignores UAC. It won't work with a full conduit
installation (two-way arguments), but it's fine for simply
moving .pdb and .prc files.

Good luck!
