Unable to successfully install outlook 2003

We have a new computer with VIsta. I am unable to successfully open Outlook.
When I open Outlook it asks if I want to open using BCM and I say no. It
says it cannot complete because of external error. When I try and do a
send/receive it says no object can be found. When I try to open my archive
e-mail or calendar or contacts, Outlook shuts down. I am thoroughly
frustrated. Can anyone provide a rather novice computer person a suggestion?
Much appreciated

I added a new e-mail profile and got the same "unknown external error"
message. Another suggestion

Hi Mark,

did you try to start Outlook in "safe mode"?

Did you try to start Outlook with another Windows user account?

Did you visit the "Event Manager" and if "yes", do you see error entzries in
the "event manager"?

Did you try the "Office repair"?

I did get into Outllok through the safe mode but I am still not able to use
Outlook. Someone suggested that cit could be something with the add-ins. The
only add-in I see is Exchange Extensions Property Pages. Is there something
wrong here? Thanks

When I try to send/receive email I get "Operation Failed. AN object could
not be found". Does that help find a solution?
