unable to send e-mail

Has anyone had a problem with sending e-mail from outlook
and gotten an error messege that had no error number. And
no ability to send e-mail using outlook express. I can
recieve without problems and there are no viruses detected
on my system.

Any suggesations?

Make sure you're properly authenticating to your outgoing server.

I use Outlook Express 6 on Win XP SP 1
