Whilst trying to send an email with a 3meg attachment via winmail I get a
message half way through

"Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes
for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of
inactivity. Subject '', Account: 'mail2.eircom.net', Server:
'mail2.eircom.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error:
10053, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F"

I have a land line broadband connection and my internet connection remains
on after this message.
Any ideas would be welcome.

Check with eircom.net to see if they have a limit on attachment size.
The other possibility is interference from a non-compatible antivirus
like McAfee or Norton.

Email scanning should be turned off in any anti-virus. Also exclude EML
files from the scan. It provides no
protection not provided by the regular resident protection.
Besides that, McAfee and Norton are not compatible with Windows Mail and
Outlook Express and should be uninstalled. The latest version of Trend's
anti-virus seems to be causing problems too.
