Unable to save a New appointment on my calendar, Outlook 2003

Hello,
I am having a problem with saving an appointment in the calendar in Outlook
2003.
I am running vista and when I have finished making the appointment and i
click "Save and Close" a window pops up and gives me the following message.
"The Messaging Interface has returned an unkown error. If the problem
persists, restart Outlook."
I have done the following things to try to solve the problem:
1. Restarted outlook and rebooted the computer
2. I have uninstalled MS Office 2003 standard addition and reloaded it.
3. I have uninstalled MS Office 2003 standard and loaded MS Office 2003
Professional edition (worth a shot).

Any help would be greatly appreciated

try starting outlook in safe mode. if it works, look over the addins.
