Deleting Appointment through Advanced Find:
Question: I have a user using Office 2003 who has editor privileges to her
boss's calendar. Using the the advanced find function in Outlook she found
some, no longer needed, future appointments that she was going to delete. So
within the advanced find dialog box, she right-clicks on the appointment she
wants to delete and selects 'delete'. However she gets an error message
saying 'The messaging interface has returned an unknown error If the problem
persists, restart Outlook' or 'The operation failed'.

However, she can open the appointment from the Advanced Find and then delete
it from there. She can also do a permanent delete using shift-delete in the
advanced find results window.

I have rebuilt the Outlook profile, replaced that outcmd.dat, reset the
permissions, all with no luck.

Did you reset the view or see if it worked with the reghack I mentioned
earlier?

Items deleted from a shared mailbox go to the wrong folder in Outlook

I don't know if that makes a difference, but I use it and can delete from
advanced find.
