Unable to remove PaperPort

I get a 'fatal installation error' when I try to remove PP at add/remove
programs. When I try to delete its folders manually, access is denied.
I'm logged in as administrator and PaperPort isn't running in the
background. I tried reinstalling it, but got the fatal error message again.

How do I uninstall it? I'll appreciate your help. Thanks..

Try reinstalling PaperPort again, then uninstall it again.

No luck, Mark, but thanks.. Is there a way to get around the file
protection, so I can just delete the thing manually?

To explain further, I have versions 8.0, 9.0 and 10.0. My problem is a
corrupt 8.0 that's gone completely useless. After failing to remove it,
both from Control Panel and by manual deletion, I tried reinstalling
8.0 and then the other versions over it, hoping I would be able to
remove an overwrite from control panel.

When I try to install any version, it jumps to the finish button after
just a couple of prompts. An error message says 'The installation was
interrupted. Try again later.'
