unable to remove advertising cookie

My wife was trying to download info for MP3s and
downloaded a site that put popup banners, title bar and
inserted itself as homepage. The rotten site
is "sckr.com". I have romoved all the cookies I could-
some I can not remove. Any ideas??

Absolutely nothing to do with cookies. You can remove cookies until doomsday
and whatever has attached itself to your system will remain. Others have
given suggestions on a fix -- personally I'd suggest a download and install
of Lavasoft's free AdAware, an update to make sure that is current, and then
a run under the most in-depth scan settings. This progam is no more thorough
than another free scanner called Spybot Search & Destroy but some feel that
it is easier for the uninitiated to use.
