Unable to reinstall USB drivers

I am unable to reinstall my USB drivers in WINXP Home SP1.
I keep getting I/O errors and causes my computer to
slightly lag after login.

There is a hotfix available from MS (watch the wrap) that may help. It's a
patch to SP-1 and shows that it's also for the SiS 7001.
