Unable to Receive Pictures

I receive email but attached pic in jpg does not
appear .... square box with red X is all I can see.
 
Dear,
you have got a transmission error, tell sender to resend
the picture. or he may not attach the picture properly.

What email program are you using?
What email program is the sender using?
Is the email plain text or HTML?
