Unable to Read CDRW Disk

Hi

I recently purchased CD-RW disks for backup purposes. I wrote my files to
the disk (using Winxp Drag and drop/write files to disk) and stuck it in a
drawer. I needed my resume off the disk and it worked fine. Suddenly I try
to read the disk and it shows a capacity of 84.7 Mb's and a file system of
"CDFS". I am unable to retrieve any files. The drive read takes about 1.5
mins and no files are displayed. I use Winxp.

Is there a way to recover the files on the disk? This disk represents 100's
of hours of my time.

Thanks
Dennis

Try to copy the files on the CD to a folder on your hard drive. That may
work. I was not aware that XP supported packet-writing to CD-RW disks. Of
course, you can use applications like Nero's InCD to do that, but I didn't
think that XP natively supported it.

Unfortunately there are no files displayed. Windows states that the disk is
empty but has only 84 MB's of free space.

I suggest you download Isobuster and see whether you can read the disk with
that. There are also a few CD file recovery programs around, try Google to
locate and try.
