Unable to post NEW TOPIC

Cant understand why that I cannot start a new topic under this tread:-

or any other threads along the above line. Normally when I click NEW, it
will ask (question/statement/comments //) but this does not happen now and
there is no new dialogue box appearing

However, I am able to come to this thread.

to make a NEW post.

Please advice as I dont see anything wrong with my browser

If I may add here, using serial mouse and serial kb and now lost the
function of the mouse,(no where to be seen) how can I get the mouse going
again. The mouse is ok as it works on the other pc, running 98se

Appreciate your advice asap, thanks

Hi, Twins.

I'm not sure what you are asking. Like most newsgroup regulars, I can't
stand the web-based interface, so I use Outlook Express to read newsgroups.
But the basic part of what I think your question is has the same general
answer under either the web-based interface or a news reader.

The New button is only for "changing the subject", or starting a new thread.
If you want to continue the current thread (also known as a conversation),
then DO NOT click New. Yes, you are adding a new message to the existing
thread, I suppose, but that is not what the New button means.

For what it's worth, I did click on both the links in your message and saw
the same screen in both. And the New button worked in both of them. (I
didn't actually post any message, though.) Hmmm... Sometimes, when I click
New | General Comment, I don't get the Compose window, but I notice new text
down on the Status line (just above the Taskbar). It says, "Popups were
blocked on this page. Press the 'Ctrl' key when clicking to allow popups."
Do you see that?

If that is not what you meant, just hang around. Someone who does use the
web-based interface should be along soon with better advice. ;^}
