No router
I can ping myself (Win XP machine) but no others

Test 2

Local Net
System is Laptop with Win XP
No firewall or filters during test (including win xp firewall)
Netscape 814 Router
2-Win 98 machines

Any PC you cannot ping must have a firewall installed. On a PC that cannot
be pinged, boot into safe mode with networking support. If it can be pinged
successfully now, locate the firewall and remove it.

Have tried that.

Went to Safe Mode networking enabled and I could ping any IP I chose like
Yahoo, Drudgereport etc.

Back to normal start I could ping nothing.

Please uninstall the Trend software from the PC that cannot be pinged.

Then reboot and let me know if the problem still exists.

There are other threads in this same forum with people who had the same
problem with Trend software, uninstalled it and all their problems went
away. I am sensing De Ja Vu.

Please let me know.

Before uninstalling PcCillin I tried ping again and no go. I then installed
PcCillin and Ping worked just fine. I then reinstalled PcCillin and Ping
still worked just fine. Some file must have been damaged along the way.

All works just fine now. Really appreciate your suggestion on how to resolve
my problem.
