A computer's hard drive got fried. We managed to recover most of the data,
but now when you attempt to open Microsoft Outlook, you receive error "Unalbe
to display the folder. The file c:\documents and settings\name\local
setting\...\mailbox.pst couldn't be accessed. The handle is invalid. I can
get to the file and see it by clicking through the steps. Why won't Outlook
recognize and open this folder?

Hi,

The error message you are experiencing can be caused if the .PST file you are trying to open is set to read- only, but is most likely due to corruption in the .PST file. Please check the
file to make sure it is not set to read-only, and refer to the following Knowledge Base article if this does not resolve your issue.
