Unable to open my Microsoft Excel

I don't know is i got a virus...but when i click on my icon for microsoft
windows, it seems to start the .exe file, but gets stuck in a loop, any ideas
how i can fix this, i lost my disk to reload word?

What are you trying to start, Excel (as your subject line implies), Windows
(the icon you're clicking), or Word (which you ask how to reload)?
