My wife's old PC with Windows 98 crashed in the middle of an important
project so I had to rush out and and buy a new system that day. I saw the
crash coming and was able to save all our documents ( done in Microsoft
Office 2000 Professional) and they all open in Vista except for the Access
files. When I try to open them in Microsoft Works it says the files may be
corrupted. How do I get access to my Access?

Access is not part of Works. Install your Office 2000 on the new machine.

The Microsoft Works Database is incompatible with Microsoft Access .mdb
files. Please install a Compatibile version of Microsoft Office Access.

I was hoping there was a work around or some way to convert .mdb files to
those used in Works. Thanks for the info. Now I know my next step.

I am also unable to open my .mdb files now that I have Vista so I installed
my Office Small Business XP 2002 and I am still not able to open the .mdb
files. Can you please help with next steps? Thanks in advance.

Office Small Business Edition does not include Access. You need to upgrade
to a version of Office that includes Access or purchase Access.
