unable to open files

My son performed a system recovery by MISTAKE, (Big One). I was able to
recover some of my data files. However, I am not able to open the miccrosoft
word or power point files.
Please advise

Try asking in a forum dedicated to those programs - or, better yet, in one about general PC data recovery. This one is for Access, the database product from Microsoft.
