Unable to Open default e-mail folders

I am trying to setup a 2nd work from home system for myself and when I
connect to my VPN and try to configure OUtlook, I get an error when it is
tryong to open

Unable to open your default e-mail folders. You must coonect to your
Microsoft Exchange Server computer with the current profile before you can
synchronize your folders with your offline folder file.

I am trying to use cache mode and when nothing seems to work. Any ideas?
