unable to open access

I have installed office 97 on my system (running windows
XP). When I try to run MSACCESS, I receive the following
message:"Microsoft acces can't start because there is no
licence for it on this machine".All other programs are
opening OK. HELP PLEASE>

A common problem, usually cause by (of all things) a font.

If you solve the problem please advise. I have exactly
the same problem. When I originally installed Access97,
it did the not licensed trick, and someone told me the
solution then, but I can't recall what it was
